In my life there's one place I can escape to. A place where no one knows my secrets and I can be normal, for once. This place everyone knows as school. My school is filled with people like me with the same secret as me. No one would suspect me, Crystal Wright, the girl that is always nice and kind to everyone, that has so many friends, and doesn't have a bad bone in her body, as a werewolf but that's what I am. Everyone knows how to spot one. They hang together in groups and always look like they're stalking or hunting. I don't, of course I have friends that I particularly hang out with but not a group. I don't really even hang out with the werewolves, except for when I am in wolf form. My other life is a secret here at Amenia High School and I intend to keep it that way. Even if it means not letting my two best friends Dawn and Sorina know my biggest secret.

I walked up to the doors of my beloved school, took a deep breath, and walked inside. As I went through searching I would hear random whistles and hellos, but I would just smile and wave at them. I couldn't waste time. I didn't have long before I HAD to get to my locker so I needed to see my friends. The one's that I always spent time with, Dawn and Sorina. They are my BEST friends. I am friends with basically everyone at this school, but these two will always be there. These two I can actually depend on. I haven't talked to them since my summer break party, so I need to catch up. As I was walking through the halls I happened across a mysterious guy. He was gorgeous and familiar in a way that I couldn't understand, because I knew he had to be new here. I'd never seen him before, but the way he looked at everything was so familiar to me. The color of his eyes too. Then I looked at the way he walked. It was the same stalky walk as....that's it, he's a werewolf too. I gasped and he looked at me. I had no idea what to do so I just smiled and waved. He smirked and turned and walked off. I kept my eyes on my friends, not wanting to turn around. Thoughts kept going through my head and I avoided them. I didn't want to think about him. I didn't even want to turn around......
I approached my friends with the same smile I always wear. My long blond pigtails fluttered as I tapped them on the shoulders and said, "Hi."

OOC}} My writing skills are impaired right now. I either have writing block or am just tired. So that's why this might suck.
BIC}} Sorina turned with a smirk. "Hi, Crystal," she said casually. "How was summer in the crappiest freak-infested city in the known universe?" She loosely tied her hair back with a blue ribbon, leaning against the lockers. As she glanced down the hallways, she thought she caught sight of dark clothing, a leather coat, and a familiar predatory walk. She straightened up immediately, her green eyes widening. "Lucian?" she hissed.
The werewolf turned, raising his eyebrows in question, and smirked as he caught sight of Sorina, her mouth hanging open in shock, her eyes blazing with fury. "Hi, Sunny," he said casually, turning and padding back over.
"Sunny?" she growled. "You're nicknaming me?"
He shrugged and grinned cockily, putting one hand on a locker. "Well, I figured Sorina means sun, and I didn't want to call you Sorry or Sor..."
Sorina had been terrified him when she met him that night in the dark, but this was different. This was daylight, and a human school - her own territory. "How about this," Sorina snapped. "Don't call me anything. Just get out of this school, wer -"
"Sshhh." He put his finger against her lips, silencing her. She noticed for the first time that he was wearing a necklace, a simple black leather cord that came around to a gem pressed against his throat. A pure black gem. Onyx, she thought. Naturally. She realized with a jolt that it must block other's perception of him as a werewolf. She should have expected a trick like that. "It'll be our secret, Sunny," he said casually, and padded off into the hallway, offering nothing but a cheery wave. "I told you I would see you later!" he called out, and then vanished.
Sorina slammed her locker shut, an act of frustration. "I hate him," she snarled. It was only after the words and actions occured that she realized she really did - she felt true emotion. Sorina had only felt true emotion once before since she was six years old.
The last time was when she was in the presence of the dark werewolf.

It was just another average year for Shadow, He was missing two things. The guy who he owed his life to, and Dawn. He still hasn't found her. Shadow froze in the middle of hall. She's here? All that time and she'd been right there. Shadow walked up to his locker. What am I going to say, or do? Shadow once again froze. Standing right next to the water fountain was Lucian. "Lucian?" Shadow walked across the hall to where this guy was. "Is that you?"

Lucian pushed his dark hair out of his face and raised his eyebrows. "Shadow. I have to admit, I didn't expect to see you again. I w hoping you'd be far from here." He frowned and narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here? Still seeking that girl?"

"You know that...werewolf." she lowered her voice to a whisper on the last word. Lucian was the guy I saw earlier, and it was confusing to me that Sorina would know a guy like...that. Another thing that bugged me was that she KNEW he was a werewolf. Also, he seemed to have some kind of attraction to her. Though she didn't seem to like him very much. So maybe I don't have to worry.

Lucian frowned. "You can tell, too? This charm thing has issues." He fingered it absentmindedly. "Then again, Sorina and I had quite an... interesting meeting."
"Where you acted like a total creep," Sorina broke in, "and threatened to kill us."
"Ah - " Lucian raised a finger - "Don't mix up the facts. I specifically said I wouldn't kill you, and that if I wanted to you'd already be dead."
"You're still a creep," Sorina muttered.

Dawn walked up to her locker. Soon I will have that vampire's reason for saving me. Aren't they supposed to hate humans? Dawn felt a weird tugging in her heart. She resisted the urge to follow it. Dawn slammed her locker. "Oh - hey, Crystal. Sorry, I didn't see you there. I've been so out of it lately. Sorina, I have to talk to you and Angel."
Angel smiled. "I'm all ears."
Shadow was relieved, "I' was sure you heard the news." Shadow once again felt the tug at his heart. " I didn't expect to see you around. How are the... folks?"

"Dead," Lucian said matter-of-factly. He casually leaned against a locker, smirking as if the matter meant nothing - which, to him, and Shadow, it didn't. Except maybe as a source of joy. "After they told me what happened to Keoko, I kind of got mad." He shrugged. "You know my temper issues. That was the reason they didn't dare do anything to me like they did to you - I would have flayed them. Wait, I did anyway." He smirked.

"Ah, so you know about Keoko. Which means you know I'm a bloodsucker? Hey - do you know a girl named Dawn? Oh, and good job with the parents, I was weak, young, and scared then. If you hadn't been home that night, I would be as dead as a doornail."

To Sorina: "What is up with that guy... how can someone like him act like that?" He was incredibly gorgeous, I have to admit, but he was too full of himself in a way. "I mean like you said, he seems like a total creep!"

"'Kay see you later, I'm gonna head off soon myself. I just need to talk to Sorina for a bit.", I smiled back at her. I need to hurry though. I haven't even gone to my locker yet.

"He is annoying, egotistical, and extremely creepy," Sorina growled. "And I'm not a hateful person."
Lucian
"Yeah, I know. There's very little that goes on that I don't know about. Keoko and Hiro were my friends - that's why when they came back and told me Keoko was dead... and tried to lock me in the basement - " he broke off with a short, cynical laugh. "As for Dawn, I think she just went to class." He shrugged his leather coat into a better position and smirked.

"Ya, of course! Why would anyone think you were? You're my best friend!" I said "Though you know Lucian is kinda cute, you have to admit!" I looked at her with the face that says "Fess up girl!!!"
