I paced quietly back and forth in my half-brother's house, spinning my newly activated ring around my second finger casually. I kept one eye on the door and one on the glowing digital numbers. 3:59. 4:00.
Anytime would be nice, Mikey.
I hoped he hadn't gotten straight to her house. Not that I couldn't deal with that, but it would be more difficult. More complicated. I frowned. Mikey...
The front door opened.
Footsteps sounded on the stairs. One pair.
I smirked and flopped down sideways across his recliner, not even bothering to look up, as if I weren't anticipating his approach. I heard the footsteps approach the room, stop. "What do you want?" he asked, almost resignedly. I raised an eyebrow and twisted around to face him. "Hiya, Mike."
"Get out of my house."
I rolled my eyes and slipped off the chair, stretching as if I'd been there longer. "Or?" I asked calmly. Mike narrowed his eyes and took a step forward.
Or tried.
My smirk widened as he tried in bewilderment to move. "What the hell - "
"It's called telekinesis." I sent him slamming backwards, into the wall. "Very useful witch gave it to me, along with shapeshifting. Don't you just love what good manipulation skills can do for you?" It took no more than a flick of my finger to bring the chains, and watch in amusement and interest as they moved themselves to secure him to the wall. I padded forward and tugged at them experimentally. Satisfied that they would stay, I slipped the key inside my coat and padded for the door, my body slowly changing as I did. I didn't need to look at Mike's face. I knew it too well. I paused in front of the mirror, making sure no detail was out of place, then I set a smirk on his normally serious, somber face and padded to Angel's house. Changing it into a warm smile, I knocked lightly on the door.
