Fatal Attraction
Prologue
When you lose all of hope and have nothing to gain from life is it even worth living? This question has gone through my head a million times but I can't even bare to understand the concept of dying. I've seen it happen around me many times, too many times. Enough to where it's easy to hide the pain it causes. To top it all off with all of the hope I've lost I have found myself in a situation that should make things better but has caused me to want nothing more than to die...
Chapter 1
My name is Alexandra Rochelle. I'm fourteen years old, and I now have no place to live. My parents died when I was six and my little sister, who was two at the time, died the following year. I have been going from family member to family member only for them to end up getting sick and dying or have lost too much money to be able to take care of me along with their family. My last hope had been my aunt. She passed away last week and I am just now leaving her house. I had to find a place to stay. I could take care of myself if I could find a home, but the area I'm in now would not be suitable.
It's too creepy around here. My only way out of here though is to go straight through the worst part of this town. To top it all off a storm seemed to be near. I kept on walking. I had to get out of here. All of a sudden a quick flash of light and a thunderous crack came out of no where and was right in front of me. Rain followed and I ran to a house nearby. It looked empty, and I knocked on the door to be sure. No one answered and the door was unlocked, so I just ran inside.
There were things inside the house. There was the chance that someone is living here. If that was the case I would apologize, but there was no way I was going back outside until the storm went away. A huge crack sounded and I heard someone coming. I ran and hid underneath a table. Tears were flowing down my cheeks from fear. A guy walked inside the house. I tried to make my breathing silent, but it seems he could still hear me. I saw his feet come over to the table and stop. He placed his hand on the table and bent over.
"Hello there sweetheart....What on earth brings you here?" he asked. I sat there silent while tears still fell. He grabbed my arm and pulled me out from underneath the table with a swift movement. "Not going to talk? Well then perhaps I'll have to make you..." he said as he gripped my arm tighter and slapped me across the face. Tears fell and I didn't look at him. He jerked me closer and I squealed. I looked him in the eyes. His deep and dark brown eyes were filled with fury. "Now tell me what you're doing here or you'll regret it...." he said growling through his bared teeth. I cried more and he lifted his hand. I winced automatically and spoke up.
"I'm so sorry! I-I was just walking through when I was almost struck by lightning. The door was unlocked and I didn't think anyone lived here. I'm terribly sorry, sir." I said with my eyes closed tightly and tears still streaming down. His grip loosened until he finally let go. He chuckled a little and I looked up at him.
"Sir? I'm only merely a few years older than you..." he chuckled lightly, and tilted up my chin. He looked into my eyes and forced me to keep staring into his. "What is your name my dear?" he asked as he gently caressed my cheek with his thumb. I cringed in the intensity. I finally let the words come out so my voice would be silky and smooth and not as shaky and choked up as it should be.
"My name is Alexandra Rochelle. I'm fourteen. I have no place to live. That's all the information you need to know about me..." I said staring deep into his eyes. I could not stop staring into them. A lot of darkness faded into a light that shined brightly for a second. Then he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. He leaned forward until his lips touched mine.
His passion was making me cringe. I stood there for a few moments trying to figure out what exactly was going on. Then when it all came to me I fought him away. I tried to pull myself away from him but his arms tightened around me. I kicked and screamed and he eventually moved his face away from mine. I swung at him, but he reflexively grabbed my arm before I could even touch him.
"We don't play that way in this house. I think it's time I teach you a lesson..." he said pulling me to another room in the house. He pushed me against the wall. He left my side for a few seconds and was back holding a knife with fresh blood on it. He licked the blood off of it and I felt like I was going to puke. He then had me up against the wall. "I can just stab this through your heart and have this all over with...." he said and I winced. Pleading tears rolled down my cheeks.
"But that would be far too easy....I have an idea. I can just torture you and eventually kill you when I've gotten all the fun I can out of you. Yes, that will work out nicely..." he said then turned my head, making my neck stretch out. "Now don't fight me, or this will become more of a bloody mess than it needs to be." he said as he took the knife and cut a little into my skin to where a steady blood flow was coming out. I screamed and he leaned toward my neck.
"Oh and by the way...I'm a vampire." he said as he leaned down more and bit into my neck. Pain was racing all through me and I kept on screaming. He eventually stopped and threw me to the ground. He pulled out a whip and struck me fiercely making me scream even more as pain raced down my thighs and my back. He continued on when I heard a door open.
"Torturing another innocent girl I see, Cameron?" a male voice said as he walked over to me. He looked at me with his brown eyes that were identical to Cameron's but had a softness to them that shined brightly at me. He seemed identical to Cameron in many ways except that he had golden blonde hair and he looked and acted far more mature. They had to be the same age though.
"What's it to you Bryce? This girl came into our home and now knows what we are. We might as well kill her." he said fiercely and struck me again. Bryce walked over to my side. He picked me up gently, and set me on my feet. He kept his arms around me to keep me from falling. His warmth made me stop crying.
"Well if you hadn't bitten her she wouldn't have found out... Surely you can't blame that on her. We will have to keep an eye on her though. We can't let her run off, so she will have to stay here with us. Alright, sweetheart?" he asked as he delicately turned my face to look him in the eyes. His hand grazed my cheek as he did so. The intensity made me cringe and words wouldn't come to my mouth so I just nodded.
"Great another house guest. I should've just killed you when I had the chance..." Cameron said as he walked out of the room. I heard screams downstairs and shivered.
"Please excuse my brother. He is to say the least psychotic, but if he grows on you eventually he'll show you he has a soft side. Now why don't we get you cleaned up?" he asked as he lead me down a hallway to a bathroom.
"Could you please explain to me who you two are? I'm very scared and confused... I mean I obviously know you're vampires, but I need more information than that..." I said softly as he lightly cleaned my wounds with alcohol, making me wince from the sting. He continued focusing on his work. I kept my eyes on him as he searched for the words to say. Eventually he looked up at me.
"Well first you need to know I'm Bryce Lenoire. I'm seventeen. My twin brother of course is Cameron. He died his blonde hair to the blackish color it is now. Of course you know that we aren’t really seventeen though… Are you curious about how old I am…?” he asked softly. I looked at him, and softly nodded. He chuckled lightly. “I am actually thirty-seven years old.” he said softly. I let out a sigh of relief and he chuckled, “What?”
“I just thought you might turn out to be like one hundred years old or something like that.” I said giggling softly. He looked at me and smiled. I gave him a confused look and he stood up.
“You have a very cute laugh…” he said, and I blushed a bright red. He chuckled again. His eyes were gazing deeply into mine. “You’ve heard vampire stories before haven’t you? That if you are bitten by a vampire you become one?” he asked curiously. I cringed a little. “Well that’s only true for some vampires. If you’re a pure blood, meaning you were born a vampire then you can change humans. If not you can only kill humans by drinking all of their blood, but you can’t change them.
“Cameron’s not a pure blood?” I asked cautiously, hoping for him to say no. Though, there was this strange feeling inside that wanted me to become a vampire. I didn’t understand this feeling. I just dismissed it for now.
“No he’s not…” he said softly, and helped me off of the sink counter. “Now let me take you to your room…” he said softly leading me down a small hallway. We stopped at a room. He looked at me with cold eyes, making sure I was listening. “Whatever you do… Do not enter that room… If you do there will be tremendous consequences. Do you understand?” he asked softly. I nodded slowly and carefully. He led me to the room at the end of the hall. It was very nicely made.
“This is our nicest guest room. If you’d like we could have it redecorated. Well you have had a very eventful day, so it’s best that you get some sleep. Tomorrow I’ll explain the rules, and your duties. Goodnight, Alli…” he said and shut the door. This was the beginning of a very depressing and confusing life for me. I knew only one way out. I had to escape. I would sneak out during the night…
Chapter 2
I heard the clock alert that is was midnight. I grabbed only needed things, and silently slipped out the window, not even thinking twice about it. I ran as fast as I could until I was a safe distance away so I could catch my breath. I leaned over and shut my eyes feeling free for once. Then I heard the soft chuckle.
"Did you really think you could run away?" Cameron asked moving closer to me. My eyes went wide. He titled my chin upward forcing me to stand up straight and have my neck stretched so far that it was causing pain.
"You have no idea how strong we really are. You need to be straightened out. Meaning you're going to be beaten, and this time I'm going to use all of my force on you." he said chuckling. His words made me cringe. Pleading tears rolled down my cheeks, but I knew it was no use. He would probably beat me more if I thought that he would go easy on me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me back to the house.
I saw Bryce. My eyes were filled with fear, and he looked away from me, trying to fight back the urge to stop his brother. He knew I deserved this, but at the same time he didn't want to see me in pain. Cameron took me into the room he'd used before to beat me in. He threw me on the ground.
Tears were streaming down my face. He struck me hard with the whip. I screamed out in pain. My thighs were burning, and I felt blood pouring out. He continued beating me until Bryce finally had enough of hearing me scream. He walked into the room.
"That's enough Cameron. I think she's learned her lesson..." he said through barred teeth. Cameron struck me one last time and then left. Bryce walked over to my side. He bit his lip. I could see he was fighting back tears. I felt that I was beaten very badly and it probably showed. He took me to the bathroom and addressed my wounds as he did before.
"What's the matter Bryce? Is something bothering you?" I asked after a while of pure silence. He stopped what he was doing immediately. His eyes went wide.
"Wh-why would you think s-something's wrong?" he asked and I gave him a look showing that it was way obvious. "It's just that I thought you would be happy here...I don't understand why you'd want to run away..." he said and then realized how stupid that sounded.
"I mean to say that I can make you happy, far happier than anyone else could. I know what your life was like. I can see your past. It's a talent I have. That saying I know what you've been through. I can give you a home and make the rest of your life the best it will ever be if you just trust me and stay with us. I can give you the life you've always wanted..." he said and tears burned in my eyes.
I wanted to trust him and I wanted to love him. I just didn't understand how I feel about him. "Let me show you what love feels like. I know you haven't felt it in a long time. Let me kiss you and show you real passion unlike the fake and aggressive kind my brother gave you the other day. It'll be the real passion that makes you melt against me and not want the moment to end. I have so much love to give and you need it the most. Just let me give you my heart..." he said as he gently caressed my cheek.
He had stood up at some point while he was talking, and our eyes were glued to each other. Tears rolled down my cheeks and he wiped them away. "Please don't cry..." he said softly. He pulled me closer and I pushed him away.
"At least let me hold you. At least let me show you the warmth in my heart that warms my icy cold skin. It'll burn straight through you. I know you need that warmth." he said, pleading. I looked at him for a few moments and then showed through my eyes could.
He pulled me close, and for those brief moments I could feel my heart glowing, far more than I ever thought it could. The warmth between our hearts was the best feeling in the world. He pulled back a little to look into my eyes, and suddenly we were both leaning forward. Our eyes closed, our lips touched, and nothing could stop this moment from being the best moment in the whole world.
After the kiss of a lifetime was over, Bryce finished addressing my wounds. After that was done he lightly picked me up and carried me into a nearby bedroom, which I assume is his. He lay me down on the bed. He passionately kissed me over and over again, his hand gently resting on top of my head.
He removed his lips from mine. He pressed his lips against my neck. Lightly licking all the way down and up again. Until he stopped at one spot and pressed his lips on it, slowly sucking on the skin.
"B-Bryce, w-what are you d-doing?" I asked shaking in fear as I felt his lips pull back...
"Bryce, control yourself!" Cameron yelled when he rushed to the door. Bryce stood up, eyes wide from shame.
"I'm so sorry..." he said and quickly left the room. I stared after him for awhile, then eventually looked at Cameron.
"What was all of that about?" I asked cautiously.
"You know how you couldn't change to a vampire from me biting you because I'm not a full blooded vampire? Well he is, and he was about to drink some of your blood. He can't control himself as well as I can. I can read his mind. I knew he was about to bite you. It'd be a lot of trouble to deal with a new born. Bryce wants you to change, but I think it'd be worse for you..." he said.
I let his words circulate through my head. Bryce walked into the room a moment later. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close.
"I'm so sorry, Sweetheart..." he said as he kissed me softly.
”Are you...jealous, Cameron?" he laughed pulling me away.
"NO! Why would you think that?" he said looking away. Bryce forced Cameron to look at us.
"Oh? Well then I guess you wouldn't mind if I did this..." he said as he dipped me down. He bent down and started furiously kissing me. Then all of a sudden we were French kissing. I started to scream.
"Cut it out Bryce..." Cameron growled. Bryce continued for a little while. When he stopped and stood me back up Cameron punched him hard in the arm. Bryce chuckled.
"You love her? Then show her. Kiss her with real passion and heart." Bryce said as he pushed me over to Cameron, making me lose my balance. Cameron caught me reflexively. Tears rolled down my cheeks. He stood me up straight and held up my chin. He gently caressed my cheek, and wiped away the tears as he did.
"You won't do it..." Bryce chuckled. Then Cameron pulled me forward and leaned down forcing our lips to touch. The warmth between us was far more passionate than mine and Bryce's. His lips were so gentle against mine it was hard not to kiss him back.
Our kiss went on for a long time because neither of us wanted it to end, but eventually it was starting to bring me pain. Tears rushed down my cheeks. I forced him to finally stop he stared into my eyes for a few moments, showing the pure emotion shining in his. Then I clenched my eyes closed and tears streamed down my face. I ran out of the room as quick as I could, not daring to turn back.
"Alexandra!" Bryce called. He turned to Cameron furious at his brother for what he's caused. "Why'd you have to do that?" Bryce yelled wanting to rip his brother's head off.
"Payback plus she's a great kisser..." Cameron chuckled.
"Why'd you have to make me look like a jerk? She probably hates me now!" Bryce growled completely furious.
"Not my problem..." Cameron sneered, walking out of the room. Bryce punched the wall as hard as he could, making a huge whole that he would fix sometime soon.
