I was running as fast as I could. This was the only chance I had to get away from them. I was running straight for a town called Amenia. Hopefully someone there could help me. Suddenly I noticed that Cameron was near. I knew what would happen if he caught me so I continued to run. I ran until I couldn't any longer and then screamed, "Help!"
{Crystal}
Lucian, Sorina, and I were just walking through town. We heard the scream clearly. "What was that?" I asked softly. I followed it feeling that I had to. It was so strange. Growing up in a town like this people screamed often, but something about this just pulled me towards the voice.

{Lucian} I paused and listened carefully, my eyes narrowing slightly. "It sounds like..."
"A human," Sorina finished for me. "A young human." Her eyes held a very familiar stubborn passion. Great... "Sunny," I said carefully, "Humans get killed all the time here. We can hardly save every single one."
She tucked a golden-blonde strand of hair behind her ear. "I was human for a long time," she growled. "You wouldn't have let me die."
"Granted, but - "
"Are you coming or not?"
I glanced at the unyielding fire in her bright green eyes and sighed deeply. "Yeah, I'm coming." She shot me one smirk that was strikingly similar to mine, and began to run towards the source of the scream. I followed at a slower pace, muttering muffled curses under my breath.

I found the girl easily. She looked to be only about fourteen. She looked exhausted and she was bleeding. Tears were streaming down her face. "What's wrong my dear?" I asked softly and sweetly. The girl looked at me with relief. "I know this may sound crazy. I've been living in a house with two vampires. They beat me, and so I ran as fast as I could to get away from there. This was the closest town from where I'd been living. I just need help..." she cried. I giggled softly. "Well you just walked in the town filled with the most abnormal beings around. I'm a werewolf, my friend over there is as well, and my friend right there is a vampire. We're very kind people though." I said softly. I walked over to her and turned her body slightly. I examined the marks on her back. "So they whipped you... This is almost close to as bad as what I had to go through. The damage doesn't appear to be as bad as everyday, but I don't think I had ever been whipped. I was just beaten..." I said softly.

{Sorina} My eyes widened when I saw the marks on her back, more out of sadness than real surprise. I smiled gently at her. "You didn't exactly choose a vampire-free zone in coming here," I said calmly. "But we'll protect you... I'm Sorina, by the way, and that's Crystal, and that - " I pointed at the dark werewolf standing a few feet away with narrowed, unreadable eyes - "is Lucian. If he's rude to you, don't worry. He kind of is to everyone."

"Well as long as I have protection I don't care what species you are. I'm Alexandra by the way..." I said softly. I then saw Cameron. "That's Cameron..." I whispered softly to Crystal. She pulled me behind her and then looked at him. "Why are you torturing a poor little fourteen year old? What has she done to you? I'm not kind to vampires like you. Vampires like my friend deserve to live but the ones like you really deserve to die!" she yelled at him.
{Crystal}
Cameron smirked. Then suddenly I lost control of my body. I knew this feeling instantly. He was a telepath. He forced me to walk towards him. He tipped up my chin. "It's nice to meet you too, Crystal." he chuckled softly. He slapped me hard and I fell to the ground. He took out a whip and cracked it against my back. I couldn't scream or cry. He allowed me to feel the pain though. It hurt so much.

{Lucian} My casual stance disappeared immediately and I sprang forward. I didn't bother to shift, my human form being enough for the time being. I pulled the whip from his hands and threw it to the ground, then I wrapped my hands around his throat and slammed him against the wall. I pulled back my lips, my teeth inches from his throat. "You can hear my thoughts, can you?" I growled through my teeth. "Then hear that if you ever do that to Crystal again, I will tear your unbeating, bloodsucker heart out. Questions?"

Cameron only smirked in response. Bryce appeared quickly. He glared at me. I knew he wouldn't hurt me but he was upset. Crystal got up off the ground, and her and Bryce grabbed Lucian. I was so afraid and confused. I stayed back the whole time. They pulled Lucian off of Cameron. Cameron then grabbed Crystal. He held her close. He was about to bite into her neck his teeth were only a few centimeters away. "If you choose to fight me. I will take this girl's blood. Sure she's a werewolf but blood is blood. Besides, I bet a werewolf like her tastes delicious, or better yet I could have my brother drink her blood so that she can turn to a vampire..." he chuckled.

I pulled my lips back from my teeth in a fearsome snarl. "You do that, and I'll make you feel every ounce of pain you've ever caused another person. I can manage it, trust me. Let her go now."

"If you give me what I want..." he said looking at me. He smirked carefully. I winced. I was afraid of what was about to happen. Would Lucian not care enough to save me? Would he give me to him because he didn't want Crystal hurt? I was so very scared...

My gaze moved slowly between the terrified human girl and Crystal. I stayed silent for several moments, then sighed softly and closed my eyes. "Very well," I muttered softly, grabbing her arm to pull her in front of me. "I won't go through with it," I whispered softly in her ear. "Just block your mind and do exactly as I say."

I nodded very softly. I kept my mind blocked as well as possible. I wouldn't allow Cameron to read my mind. Cameron moved the way he held Crystal to have it where they could exchange us.

My gaze slowly drifted to Sunny's. She was always able to figure things out well, and now was no exception; she took one long look into my eyes and knew what I was planning. Once she gave me a small, almost imperceptible nod, I stepped forward and took hold of Crystal. I pulled her close to me, wrapping one arm around her for protection. Simultaneously, I slowly pushed the human girl forward, until she was only a few inches away from Cameron; then I suddenly turned her and threw her to the side. Sunny caught her instinctively and lifted her up with the effortless ease of any vampires.
Run, I mouthed, and then - for once offering no argument - she was just gone, with the girl. Even faster than the average vampire. I smirked slightly as I glanced back at Cameron, holding Crystal even closer. He'd have a hard time prying her away from me.
{Sorina} I set her down lightly once we reached my house, hovering outside the door. "I could be wrong, but I don't think they'll be able to track you for awhile," I said softly. I tilted up her chin gently. "What all happened to you?" I asked softly.

"Everyone in my family died. I was going to go search for a place to live when a storm started. I ran into a random house. It was empty but later on Cameron showed up and him and his brother kept me there. I don't know why though. Bryce loves me but I'm afraid of him at times. I just don't understand everything. My life's too confusing. that's why whenever I get the chance I run as fast as I can to get out of there. Though when I've tried it before I've never gotten this far. I always end up being caught and then beaten..." I said softly. Tears flowed very fast. I had never really gotten the chance to tell anyone and cry about all that has happened. Tears kept flowing as I tried to stop them but I couldn't. I hid my face underneath my hair and just sobbed.
{Cameron}
I smirked and forced Bryce to help me take the girl we continued to fight and struggle until we had her. She helped as well. When Bryce grabbed a hold of her he leaned down towards her neck. He was going to take her blood.
{Bryce}
I finally gained a little control of my mind and had enough to block him from it. I handed the girl back to the boy quickly and we took of to Alexandra. I wasn't going to allow my brother to hurt her again. I had had enough of that.

I smiled somewhat sadly. "You have a life worthy of an Amenian," I murmured, fingering the silver necklace around my neck absentmindedly. "Something bad or something dark has happened to all of us at one point or another. My issues are mainly in my past, but for Crystal more than anyone... she has no luck. At all." I sighed softly.

"Yeah I can see that..." I said softly. When Bryce came up I backed away. "Alli, it's all right I'm not going to hurt you..." he said softly. He hugged me gently, and kissed me softly on the lips. "I'm not going to let my brother touch you. I love you so much, and if I lost you I don't know what I'd do. Please forgive me Alli..." he said once he finished. I cried into his chest. "You're forgiven.." I said softly through the sobs.
