The second I stepped quietly into the High school where I would be for a long time - more than another two years, as would be assumed for a starting Junior - I knew how it was different. This entire town was; that much I'd been able to tell upon first glance. Yet it was now that I suddenly realized how much it strayed from the norm - now that I realized I was far, far away from what I was used to. In the environment in which I was raised, my school was packed with humans, and I practiced deceit with an effortless grace - though perhaps not one quite so effortless or complete as my brother's... Gabriel. The thought of my older half-brother made me wince, and I shut it out automatically. His cobalt blue eyes, his golden-blonde hair, his brilliant and beautiful smile that could be charming, coy, or sadistic, depending on which act he had chosen for the time being... all of those were reasons I had chosen to try and start a life here, without him. I didn't think he would find me unless he tried to track me - and I thought there was a pretty good chance of that, either because of some lingering affection, or perhaps just because he didn't care. The second I had stepped foot in this town, I knew there was something about it that was both dark and different. Still, it drew me at the time, so I moved in anyway - and now, scanning the school hallways, I knew why it had. So many people as beautiful, dark, and sometimes predatory as both my brother and I... this place was filled with vampires and, it seemed, other species as well. I spun a ring around my second finger, frowning with thought. It was confusing, in a way, and even threatening... but it was also intriguing. And not necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, this may be where I belonged...

{Venus} I was passing through the halls. I was very observant and it was very easy to notice the new kid. He was a vampire. I smiled lightly. I turned on my heel and walked over to him. "Hello, I'm Venus, Venus Helling." I said smiling brightly as I batted my lashes. I flirted like this. My dad says my mom was like that. I giggled softly to myself.

I smiled brightly and tilted my head at her as I held out one hand. "Michael Lenoire," I replied calmly, tilting my head.

I shook his hand lightly. "It's nice to meet you. I noticed your new here. I haven't been here long myself, but I know the school well enough to help you out if you need me to." I said sweetly as I started to sway. I don't know why I flirted like this.

I nodded. "That would be nice, thank you," I murmured, my eyes roaming over the ground. I realized after a moment that I was actually searching for the familiar blonde hair, and shook my head. He's not coming here, I insisted to myself. I grew up with him. No matter how much he's changed, I know him. He isn't going to come here... Nevertheless, I remained at unease, but I managed to cover it with a widened smile.

"Would you like to meet some other people? I know someone that would fit the type of people you would probably hang around... She's a kind person." I said softly as I headed towards where she would most likely be...

"Sure," I said softly, managing finally not to scan the crowd. My brother had no reason to come here, after all.

I walked slowly as I found her. I cautiously walked over to her. "Hey Lydia." I said softly. I smiled brightly a her. "This is Michael." I said as I moved my hand slowly to indicate who I was speaking of.

{Lydia} My eyes widened slightly, and I broke into a charming smile as I held out my hand in greeting. "Hi. Lydia Markus." Keeping my smile firmly in place, I studied his eyes carefully. I could tell a lot about a person by looking in their eyes, and this one seemed to be trustworthy to me. "It's nice to meet you," I said calmly.
{Michael} "You, too." I titled my head. She was a vampire - they both were. Which shouldn't have been a surprise, but considering that apart from my adoptive parents and my brother, I had never met anyone else who wasn't human... well, it was different for me. I released her hand and folded my arms over my chest cautiously.

"We can help you out, show you around school. You might want to keep from my sister and her brother they can be quite hard to get used to. They are of a different species than us. They don't like our kind as much, but of course they put up with us because we are blood." I giggled softly.

{Lydia} I snorted. "Yeah, Cole probably wouldn't take to you. Then again, he doesn't to anyone, really. He cares about me, but you'd have a hard time dragging that out of him..." I shook my head. "Anyway. Where are you from?"
{Michael} I shrugged evasively. "A long way away. To tell the truth, it's kind of fuzzy," I murmured quietly.

"I was born outside of here. Where nothing but humans live... That of course screwed up, of course on my account. To anyone who knows me wouldn't find that hard to believe..." I said softly as I felt a single tear roll down my cheek. I tried to hide this. I couldn't control my emotions. I blame it on my mother...

I touched her arm gently. "I'm sure it wasn't your fault," I murmured gently, still scanning the crowd carefully.

"Everyone makes it seem that way... Plus, I'm just screw up..." I said softly as I felt tears form in my eyes and another fall. I was trying to conceal my emotions but of course it's so hard to do...

I tilted my head, keeping one hand gently on her arm for comfort. "What happened?" I asked quietly.
