It's so strange. Why is it that the one guy I've sought deep inside my entire life, the one who sees straight through my mask and actually makes me feel true emotion - is the one person on Earth that I can't STAND? So thought Sorina as she lounged on her stomach on her bed, idly pretending to concentrate on her homework. It was stupid of Dawn to think she could turn her big green eyes on her and plead, and think she would go on a double date with them. She would rather die than date Luc - The doorbell rang, interrupting her thoughts. She hopped nimbly off the bed, ditching her homework, and pulled open the door, to see - "Go away, Lucian." He smirked, twirling a rose in his fingers idly. "Ready?" "I don't know what you're talking about, but no." She went to slam the door, but he caught it nimbly in his strong hand, smiling angelically. "Whatever you're thinking in your deluded mind, it's wrong." "I disagree. I'm never wrong." Before she could reply, he swept her off into his arms and started walking towards a car. It would have been quite sweet had he not had her in an iron grip, muffling her screams of outrage against his leather coat. "Hey, Shadow. Hey, Dawn. I've got her." He smirked, depositing her in the backseat. "Dawn." Sorina's voice was light, but seething with dark fury beneath the surface. "I am going to kill you."

Dawn smiled at her sister. " I love you sis, but you refused to say yes so I had to do it. And you haven't been on a date in years."

"Look. I'm not a hateful person. So if you were going to put me on a forced, arranged date, why did it have to be with the one person I hate?" Lucian chuckled, propping his feet up casually. "Complain all you want, Sunny, but - " "Shut up, werewolf!"

~~Much, MUCH later~~ Sorina bit her lip slightly out of habit and realized that her bottom lip was bleeding - again. She frowned and gently licked the bead of blood off with the tip of her tongue. Instead of the usual slightly rusty flavor, quickly washed out by whatever else she ate or drank, the salty tang exploded in her mouth, making her blink several times in shock. What the hell...? She hopped gracefully off the couch and headed for the bathroom, studying the reflection in the mirror closely. On first glance, nothing looked different - except for the unexplained puncture holes in her bottom lip, strange considering she hadn't even bitten that hard. But there was an unexplained wildness that she hadn't noticed before. She'd never been as clumsy as her sister, but there was a weird fluidity to her movements, and her eyes stood out in starker contrast with her face, burning more fiercely than they should. She sighed, decided she was officially crazy, and padded away, grabbing a glass from the cupboards. Gently, she ran her finger over the bottom of her lip, still curious about those weird puncture holes. It was then she felt one of her teeth - or, more specifically, the slight unnatural sharpness of the edge. As her finger just barely brushed against it, it drew a tiny drop of blood. Way sharper than any tooth should be... any human tooth. There were a pursuing ten seconds of complete and utter silence – and then the crystal glass hit the floor, and the loud shatter filled her house. ***** Sorina knelt carefully on the floor, carefully picking up glass with one hand – and trying not to draw blood, because she wasn’t sure exactly how that would work out – and holding a cell phone with the other. Her blonde hair spilled around her face, hiding it along with the panic in her eyes. How am I turning into a vampire? That doesn’t even make sense. There has to be a blood exchange, then I have to die or it all blows over, and it all just makes no sense – She blinked as she heard a voice pick up on the other end, jerking out of her thoughts. “Cassie? Hey. You know who this is, right?” There was a moment of silence, then she heard the witch girl’s voice say warily, “Yeah, I know who you are, Sorina. No offense, but why are you calling me?” “Because you’re the most generally book-smart person I know and can talk to right now,” Sorina said in a rush. Cassie hesitated, and she knew there were a thousand possiblities running through her head, one of which probably consisted of clicking the phone shut and walking off. But she said slowly, “What do you need?” Sorina took a deep breath. “How do you get changed into a vampire? And how does it happen? I never really read up on it or asked anyone…” Cassie spoke slowly. “It’s a complicated process. You have to let a vampire take your blood, then you have to give them yours. And even then, if you stay alive for the rest of that week it will all pass out of your bloodstream – you have to die.” “And… how do you know?” she asked quietly, gingerly dropping the last pieces of glass into the trash can. “If you’re a vampire – other than the whole blood-exchange thing.” “Well, it takes about three days for them to change completely. But you can practically watch it happen. Your eyes will get kind of… wilder, like a predator’s, I guess… your skin will pale gradually, and of course your fangs will come in. They come the fastest. Plus, you’ll start moving like a vampire almost immediately.” Oh, my God, Sorina thought numbly as she slowly rose to her feet. Cassie’s voice came across the line, still somewhat wary. “Sorina? What’s going on?” She swallowed hard and said, very slowly, “I’m becoming a vampire.” *** “Sunny, I only have the time to save your life every other day,” was how Lucian answered his phone – no simple hellos or any half-considerate thoughts like, If she’s calling me, she must be in deep trouble. It didn’t matter what happened, or how deeply he fell in love; Lucian would always be Lucian. She drew her breath to reply with something as cynical and barbed as he deserved, but her heart wasn’t in it. She let all her feistiness bleed out, at least a little. “I know,” she said softly, “but it’s important. You know how Ebony… almost killed me?” He was silent, waiting for her to elaborate. She did hear him growl, though, and that made her smirk for a moment before she continued. “Maybe… it wasn’t… almost. Maybe you and Shadow and the others were a little too late.” “What are you talking about? We weren’t late – you’re alive.” “Am I?” she said hoarsely, uncapable of getting her voice above a delicate whisper. She knew he was deadly focused by the tone in his voice when he spoke again. “Sunny, what the hell are you talking about? What’s wrong?” “Well, let’s put it this way.” She sat down slowly on the couch, pulling a brush through her long golden hair mechanically. “I’m way faster and more graceful than I should be, my skin is a little paler and my eyes are a little wilder, and… my teeth…” She swallowed, hesitating. The only sign that Lucian was still there were his fast little breaths. “I bit my lip and they sliced it open. And the blood tasted – well, not like it should… for a human…” Lucian’s voice was low and intense, more so than she’d ever heard it, even with Lacey. “Ebony… made you… a bloodsucker?” “That’s the basic explanation, yes.”

We walked up to the house. I sighed and knocked on the door. "Here goes nothing...." I thought to myself as I grabbed Thomas's hand and held it tightly. I was extremely nervous. They seemed to be good friends of mine, so it might be kind of hard on them to know I don't remember them.

Sorina bounded lightly to the door and pulled it open, looking considerably less worried than she usually did. "Crystal? Hey!" She smirked at her friend, then stopped for a moment. Why am I smirking? That's a Lucian thing... ugh. Whatever. Her eyes narrowed and she shifted, suddenly serious. "If you're here, then something's probably wrong. What is it?"

"Um... I'm not really sure how to say this." I said trying to find the right words. I sighed again and looked at her, my eyes were filled with sadness. "I'm sorry but I don't know exactly who you are. I've lost my memory." I said and then realized she was a vampire. I can't believe I'm friends with this many.

"Oh..." She trailed off for a moment, then smiled and shook her head gently. "One thing after another... just come inside. And by the way, I would be your best friend." She smirked. Again. Freakin Lucian...

{Fate} I skipped infront of Crystal. "She may need to lay down." I told Sorina. "You remeber me and Thomas, hopefully and this is...Marcus." Marcus walked in wearing a smirk. Jeez....
{Thomas} "Hello Sorina." I smiled. "Ignore the idiot wearing the smirk."

"I'm sorry to bother you like this, but I have no memory of really anything and was sure you would be able to help me. Your name was in a dream of mine. It seems it could've been a memory... I'm not sure though. I just could really use your help with filling me in on my life. I only remembered the basic things like the fact that I'm sixteen, I'm a werewolf, and I love to play the piano. Everything else besides how to eat, walk, or do whatever I normally am able to I have no memory of. I only know what Marcus and Thomas have told me." I said when I walked inside. I didn't really want to bother her, but I knew she could help me. "There's also a guy named Lucian. You know him right? He was in the dream of mine along with a vampire with red hair and blue eyes. It seemed I was trying to get myself killed. Did that actually happen or is it just my imagination?" I asked and sighed again. "I'm sorry to ask you this many questions. I'm just very confused." I said kindly to her.

"It's fine Crystal." She managed to force herself not to smirk this time. "You've come to me with much worse problems." She leaned back, her green eyes narrowing as she considered the questions. "Lucian is real, unfortunately for us all, and the red hair and blue eyes sounds like Lacey. She's his ex-girlfriend, a vampire, and a total psychopath. She caused a lot of trouble, but supposedly she's gone now. I'm not entirely sure about the dream, I wasn't there. Lucian wouldn't let me help, which is either really sweet or annoying. I'm leaning towards annoying. You did try to get yourself killed though, trust me I yelled at you for it afterwards."

{Thomas} Even though I kinda already knew this. I looked sharply at Crystal. Fate looked horrified and Marcus looked high....
{Fate} "You....TRIED TO GET YOURSELF KILLED?!" I cried in absolute horror. "People die all the time, Kitten." I glared at Marcus.

Sorina's green eyes flicked to Marcus suddenly, as if she had just noticed him. "Wait... Marcus?" Her eyes narrowed. "I believe I've heard that name before. And it wasn't in pleasant context."

{Marcus} "I'm the guy who tried to kill Crystal. Yay!" I whispered, sarcastically.
{Fate} "Shut up, Mark!" I was fuming. "Kitten, mad are we?" I nodded. "Can I speak to you outside. NOW." He nodded. "Be right back. When we were outside I began to yell. "Stop acting tough! Crystal has memory loss and you're being a serious jerk! What do you have to say for yourself?" He smiled. "I love you, Fate." Then we were kissing. "Stop acting tough for me?" He grimaced. "Just for tonight." I rolled my eyes.
{Marcus} We walked back in. "I'm Marcus Connors. I am a sadistic vampire and I tried to kill Crystal...." *I saighed, heavily.
